Community Game Jam – Plan
With the GameDev.tv Community Jam starting in 10 days’ time I
wanted a to have a general idea of what I might be creating. I figured now
would be a good time to learn how to create a 2D game, my first one.
Style
has always been a tough area for me, so I wanted to create a game with a heavy
emphasis on style, to be as far removed from realism as I could.
This
is when I came across a style in Blender called free style. An hour later of
experimenting I was very happy with the results. This style takes the edge data
of an object and uses that to draw a line, omitting all the data that is not a
line. In the end this creates a similar effect to a drawing. Hopefully I can
use this to create sprite data in Unity.
